What would you do with a room filled with custom trumpets?
Thank you, Jason. I appreciate you taking the time to work and fitting it into my Muse. I can't wait to try it!
did I miss something or are the only stainless steel parts the tuning slide and bracing? How does that result in a stainless steel trumpet??? Wouldn't a stainless steel trumpet have stainless steel piping, valves, lead pipe, bell etc???
Those who have been following this project for the past year or so know that the entire trumpet will eventually become a variety of new materials. Rome wasn't built in a day ;)
@@harrelsontrumpets I do understand process and development so yes, I'd agree that Rome was not built in a day. Stainless is a strange metal, of which there are over 600 alloys. I have had a big variety of high brass instruments all different in tonality and harmonics. While in jr high, Leblanc gave me one of their "600" model gold plated trumpets. It was very heavy, and had a dark but rich tone. It was a big reach from the ML Strad I had in 9th grade. I also have a pre production King Silver Flair pre release silver bell trumpet that is quite exceptional. They only made 125 of these horns. Regardless, building a trumpet out of a stainless steel alloy will be a challenge. Deciding what kinds of alloy mix to achieve the best harmonics and tone with be an interesting and demanding process, as noted. Thanks for taking the time to respond.
@@3RTracing You're welcome. Stay tuned for updates on the SS trumpet progress.
Top.
The title of the video is misleading: "The World's First Stainless Steel Trumpet," but it only has the tuning slide and braces made of stainless steel; everything else is made of normal trumpet material, like, brass or nickel, right? Shouldn't the title be, "The World's First Trumpet With Stainless Steel Components?"
WHAT ABOUT THE MOUTHPIECE?
Sir how can I order this
Interesting for technicians. Musicians just want to hear 'em, however. And if there's no particular uniqueness to the tone, interest drops.
Wouldn't it make it more difficult to repair by hard soldering the braces?
they are pretty much indestructible. If these parts need repair, there's likely not much left of the trumpet.
Why am I not surprised it's Jason doing metal 3d printing to make his horns. Always pushing it!
I’m looking forward to being a customer. My next upgrade will definitely be with Harrelson Trumpets. Thanks much !
É o sonho de um Trompetista.
that's awesome!
Amazing Jason! That’s a beautiful-looking horn. Don’t fill it in. It looks very cool like that. If you fill it, use the same material to make the colorful caps. That way, it has color. If you fill it with wood, use Ebony wood or Honduras Rosewood.
This is what innovation looks like!
Always impressed. Beautiful trumpets.
this is amazing, I want one now!
Great work ! I see one or two French trumpet players investing in Harrelson trumpets around me, great players… great horns ! I can’t wait to see the nylon ones :)
❤
Are the Rumors and Dreams trumet name inspired by Fleetwod Mac's album?
Im curious. Is the whole trumpet stainless steel or are the braces only stainless steel?
❤
Sounds like it was inspired by Fleetwood Mac or somethin'! 😉
Que máquina! Que sonho!
I really like the summit. Thanks Jason for an enjoyable video.
Choose happiness every day. 😃
Happy Father's Day to too
More great deals!
Your marketing is wrong. SOUND should be the most important aspect of a trumpet. Everything else is secondary.
We have been creating the most resonant trumpets in the world for over 20 years. Producing an amazing sound is not a challenge with Harrelson trumpets. However, getting the price and weight down is something most clients would like to see happen.
Amen !
Very cool Jason. Thank you for sharing this video.
I cant wait to hear the horn !!
Titanium next please 🙏
I'm working on it!
Thank you Jason for sharing. I can only wish you the best in your endeavors. Truly ground braking stuff, like a true pioneer.
Sound and durability are the most important criteria… esthetics the third I think. If the new designs check those three things… it’s a winner. It’s encouraging the fact that Harrelson is actually trying to bring a $2,500 tag for a pro trumpet.
How about a trumpet fully made with stainless and modular?
it's coming
When he finally gets to his ultimate design people are going to be stunned at the breakthroughs. He’s a fraction of where he’s aiming and I can’t wait!
nickel slides?
Those new slides are beyond cool
Very cool. Why use nylon versus carbon fiber?
CF is very limited and cannot be sintered
@@harrelsontrumpets really? Bummer. Its so strong and light. Then again, I bet if you redid the nylon pocket valves piece with same approach as the tops that it’s rigidity would approach CF.
@@GregZentTrumpetMan there are no advantages with CF over nylon in these applications. And CF would definitely shatter in the case of testing with a sledge hammer.
Wow that’s a huge weight reduction!
That’s amazing

Can you make a video for 1st time trumpet students on how to buzz your lips?
I have an older Bravura model that I played with a Bach 3C supplemented with a Schilke for higher range. I worked with Christine to find a better match for the horn and mouthpiece and settled on a Spectratone Red. Being able to adjust the rim and cup to a 'familiar' feel but much better intonation was key. I may experiment with some variations as I become more comfortable, but have already made a ton of improvement in range without loss of intonation. You guys have a great approach.
The trumpet brands and players, at least some very well known, are the problem too, not only the trumpet players. We all know what’s going on, nowadays there’re too many sellers and little (no real) knowledge applied and shared in the community. That’s why the real issues keep coming and never resolved.
Price of the trumpet
always fun to watch😃 😃
Agree or disagree, I appreciate our modern boutique trumpet builders who have a philosophy. I really think guys like Jason and Dave Monette and Adam Rapa truly believe in their systems and their equipment. They want to make a living but their primary goal is to make a great product. I have no issue with debating their products on their merits. But don’t doubt their honesty. Jason is out there trying to make the best trumpet ever made. And that’s what it’s all about.
He is not ready to reach that level and understanding when he is ready he may return to your shop
I understand what you are saying
This was a very insightful talk. Thanks for all you do.
So true Jason. I need help to be better. I own a Rumors trumpet and can't seem to play it in tune but others can. I don't have any problems with the Muse. How can I fix make that work?
Thank You Jason for this video/info I absolutely need to schedule a day to go visit you.⚔️🎺
